The Track Tec Group again took part in the European Economic Congress, which is organised every year. The event has for years been an important part of the public debate on the Polish and European economy. The Vice President of the Company’s Management Board, Krzysztof Niemiec, took part in the discussion on the Transport Strategy for Poland.
The European Economic Congress took place on 20-22 September 2021 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. The event is characterised and particularly distinguished by the fact that the thematic scope is not strictly defined, but arises in the course of the debates that take place and the discussions between experts and participants. During this year’s edition, the main thematic strands concerned the recovery plan for Europe, international trade and economic relations after the pandemic and the consumer in times of the ‘new normal’.
On the first day of the congress, in a panel dedicated to the “Transport strategy for Poland”, the speaker was, among others, Krzysztof Niemiec, Vice-President of the Management Board of Track Tec S.A., who, together with other experts, debated the development of transport in Poland. During the session, the experts paid particular attention to the disproportion between the development of road and rail transport, agreeing that the Polish rail market is currently not receiving sufficient support.
Although we are implementing more and more railway construction programmes and the industry is undoubtedly developing, the figures and statistics still indicate a prevailing disparity between road and rail transport. If we want to achieve sustainable transport in Poland, such disproportions should not take place. – said Krzysztof Niemiec, Vice-President of the Management Board of Track Tec S.A.
The European Economic Congress is the largest business event in Central and Eastern Europe, gathering over 1,000 speakers and more than 15,000 participants each year, taking part in 150 thematic sessions. This year, the Congress took the form of a campaign lasting several months, covering not only a wide range of economic topics, but above all very diverse forms of activity. It was inaugurated in February with the EEC Trends Online event, consisting of the publication of talks and debates on trends shaping our immediate future. This was followed by the EEC Online event in May, and the 13th edition of the European Economic Congress was the finale concluding the entire campaign.
